Red Cross Now Offering Pet First Aid!

Lynette Metzger has a huge heart for all living things, especially the furry kind. One of her beloved pets, Princess, is a 200 pound Mastiff; who has visited the Chapter office frequently. Lynette is one of our Elkhart Chapter Adult/Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Instructors, you may have taken a class from her at your local business or in one of the many community classes held here at the chapter. Through Lynette’s perseverance and the generous sponsorships listed below, the Elkhart County Chapter is excited to announce that Pet First Aid classes will begin in May!

The sponsors who made it possible for the Red Cross to purchase the pet manikins also named each of the manikins. Martin’s Pet & Garden Center has yet to name their pet manikin; they are going to give their customers the opportunity to name the manikin.

Pet First Aid teaches pet owners and other animal handlers the how-to’s of emergency care for cats and dogs.  Included in the course is both CPR and First Aid. Participants will receive a manual and DVD along with a certification card. Pet First Aid classes are only
