Health and Safety
The Health & Safety arm of the Red Cross prepares local residents in how to respond to emergencies. These programs may deal with medical emergencies but also deal with educating the community in how to prepare for disasters. Adults receive training in CPR, First Aid, AED, Blood Borne Pathogens, and other topics. Because of the changes in our world today, preparedness has taken on new importance. We have seen an increase in natural disasters and must now prepare to handle manmade disasters as well. The Preparedness Expo has become a focal point for local response groups to help the Red Cross educate individuals and families about preparing a disaster plan and a disaster kit as well as other topics.
